I was raised in New England and graduated from RISD in 1986.

Throughout my years of painting I have mostly turned to landscape and nature to express feeling I am unable to put to words. I love how pigment mixed with oil, pastels or charcoal softly blended can convey so much emotion. I often try to create meditative spaces which evoke a sense of quiet simplicity and calm reflection. I am deeply influenced by the 19th century Romantics and their focus on light, solitude, nature, melancholy and decay. As well, inspiration from gardens and flowers currently are making their way into my work. Mother and child, mythology, storytelling all find a place as I continue my painting practice. I seem to naturally express my vision with a softness with a wish to achieve a warmth with atmosphere and mood.
